SQUIRT PHILOSOPHY
We are excited to welcome you to our inaugural hockey season. At the 10U level, our focus is on creating a fun, positive, and development-focused environment where players continue to build fundamental hockey skills, confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of the game. Every player develops at a different pace, and our coaches are committed to providing opportunities for all athletes to learn, improve, and enjoy the game.
NMYHA follows the USA Hockey American Development Model (ADM), emphasizing age-appropriate skill development, agility, balance, coordination, hockey sense, and sportsmanship. While players begin to experience more structured competition, the priority remains long-term player development rather than short-term results.
Our USA Hockey-certified coaches strive to create a supportive environment that encourages effort, teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement. As a USA Hockey-affiliated association, all players must maintain a current USA Hockey membership to participate.
Our goal is to help every player develop skills, build confidence, make friendships, and have fun playing hockey.
